Cheshire Wild Flowers

Meadowsweet Filipendula ulmaria

This is a traditional wild flower of the English summer countryside known as ‘Queen of the Meadow’.

Mahogany brown stems and leaf stems contrast with deep green pinnate leaves, paler on the underside.

Creamy white puffs of tiny fragrant flowers in dense branched frothy masses.  Followed by clusters of tiny lime green circular seed heads.

A good airy/lace-cap filler flower for popular cottage garden arrangements; especially suitable for countryside weddings.

Also available with seedheads only for more modern arrangements.

50-120cm tall.

Longevity: Stems with flowers – 2 hours out of water; best as table arrangement. Stems with seed heads – suitable as hand tie.

Price: 39p per approx 60cm stem in batches of 25 stems. Longer lengths on request.

Available July-September.

Soft Rush Juncus effusus

A typical plant of wet pastures throughout Britain.

Long smooth soft spikes in dark green with small brown burr-like ‘flower’ towards tip.

Very versatile. Will work with both very modern and more traditional arrangements.
